Danube Bicycle Trail marked throughout Serbia

Work to sign the Serbian section of the Danube Bicycle Trail has been completed. The 667-kilometre, or over 400-mile stretch through Serbia makes up part of the Eurovelo 6 route, which runs across the continent from Atlantic to Black Sea. The signs meet UN guidelines. The most scenic stretch of the Serbian Danube trail runs though the ?jerdap, or Iron Gates, gorge. A log-point set up at Lepenski Vir had recorded as of September 2009 3,500 cyclists, hailing mainly from Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and France.
