Personnel changes at the Danube Tourist Commission

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We would like to bring to your attention a personnel change at the Danube Tourist Commission.

Mrs, Ursula Deutsch has decided to retire after twenty-six intensive and exciting years as Secretary General of the Danube Tourist Commission at the end of June. We deeply regret her decision, which we nonetheless respect.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to Mrs, Deutsch for her commitment, enthusiasm, and efforts for the success of the Danube Tourist Commission.

Mrs. Deutsch is succeeded as of 1 June by Mrs. Bettina Schuckert, who we welcome heartily aboard.

Mrs. Schuckert is thirty-seven years old and a graduate of the Modul Tourism School in Vienna. Her first professional experience was in the hotel branch at the ANA Grand Hotel in Vienna. She worked in a variety of positions outside tourism before finally returning to the business. In 2006-08 she headed the marketing and PR department at Pagro Diskont. Over the past fourteen months she was responsible on as a maternity leave replacement for press and public relations for the Donau-Auen National Park. She was previously in charge of marketing and PR for the Leoville Startup - Outlet Center.

Mrs. Schuckert lives with her family in Vienna within sight of the Danube and brings with her from her last position an enthusiasm for the river, “I am delighted after so many years to return to the tourism branch. That this homecoming is related to the Danube, which during the past year has cast its spell over me, is an additional reward. Taking on the secretariat of the Danube Tourist Commission is a tremendous challenge, which thanks to Mrs. Deutsch’s kind and patient introduction, I now feel up to tackling. I am very much looking forward to getting to know the Danube better, and making a positive and lasting contribution to marketing and positioning the river as the travel destination.

We hope that you will lend Mrs. Schuckert the same assistance and support you have given Mrs. Deutsch over the years.
